DCM, member of the family owned Group De Ceuster, is a plant care company which develops, produces and markets biofertilisers, biostimulants and biopesticides. Its core value is to be at the forefront of innovation to provide the next generation of sustainable organic products to both professional and hobby markets. With 40 years of experience in commercializing soil fertility and plant care products of a premium quality, DCM now offers over 300 product formulations, mainly manufactured in DCM’s own production facilities, with core market activities in the Benelux, France and Germany. DCM has a close collaboration with its sister organization Scientia Terrae, a non-profit research institute with modern, microbial and molecular research facilities. Together, they have an outstanding experience in (i) soil quality and nutrient management, (ii) biocontrol and biostimulant development and (iii) molecular diagnostics.
Role in the project
DCM is principally involved in work package 3, where its main objective is to develop microbial products suitable for the agricultural sector. DCM research efforts will be focused on (i) selecting microbial consortia for their capacity to improve the efficiency of potato and wheat to use available resources (water, N and P), (ii) developing formulations adapted to the selected microbial consortia, and (iii) evaluating these formulated consortia under greenhouse and field conditions.
